The Goldfish Bowl

I listenen to a podcast by Caroline Goldstein. She is a senior at at the Holton-Arms School in Bethesda. She did an analysis on the painting "The Goldfish Bowl". The podcast was about the women comparing herself to the golfish trapped in the bowl.

In my opinion, it looks as if a women was taking care of her family while her husband was gone. She probably wishes her husband was there with them. In the picture she is staring at the fish bowl. She is comparing herself to the fish in the fish bowl because she is trap in her own life. She has a job to take care of her family.

Art & Love

I agree that art is way for communication for some people. For example, couples can go on date to museums and look at the art without saying much. Many people find people love through art. I guess if you truly love your mate, you will understand what they think about a piece of art. I think that because you should understand their feelings and thoughts. Even if you don't you should still try to.





The article is right about love. Love to me is seeing things through someone else's eyes. When you are in love, you are kind of like one person. I think that because you will do almost everything together as a team.

Appreciation of Art

Many people have many different points of view on art. One person may look at a piece of art and think it is good, while another person may look at it and think it is bad. It is like that because people read art in different ways. The artist creates the art to get an emotion from people whether it is good or bad.





Many people don't appreciate art enough. Like in the article, the teacher should appreciate the painting even though she doesn't agree with it. The boy is showing his own ideals in his work and there shouldn't be a right or wrong way to do that.
